Stocks: I could stay a Socialite

Welton Captain Neil Stocks has not ruled out staying at Welton next season.

The Welton skipper is currently away on holiday but his club future remains in doubt.

Stocks is understood to have told Welton chief Al Taylor that he would like to leave the club - the club he joined as a teenager.

Several teams have made contact with Welton and all had their first offers rejected, and the Village club are standing firm over their desire to keep Stocks.

And Stocks admitted he could very well still be playing at Social Park come the start of the new season, saying: "I haven't said that I will definitely leave Welton. Everything is possible.

"I am very proud to be captain of Welton and I love the club and have respect for them. It gave me such pride to be made captain."

Stocks previously made no secret of his unhappiness at several issues last season but says that is just down to his competitive nature.

"I always want to play. I'm not used to sitting on the bench and I want to be playing all the time," he said.

"I'm always competitive at everything - even on the PlayStation. But that's my desire to win and I have that even in training.
Stocks could be making a speech at this years presentation.
