Welton closing in on Tinkler and Furness deals

Oli Furness’s agent says he will seal a move to Welton S&SC this weekend, while Welton are close to reaching an agreement for Jason Tinkler.

Ruston Sports winger Furness was expected to seal a move earlier this month.

"I think we will have a solution this week. In fact, I would say that (it will be done) in the first week of July said Welton Chairman Clive Wilkinson.

"Yes, we have to talk, but of course, the reality is not going to change in one moment," he said. "Oli wants to play the important games and he knows that he will be an important player here at Welton.

Wilkinson said nothing had been signed yet, but claimed Furness’s salary demands were reasonable.

"I haven't signed anything. However, Oli doesn't have an astronomical salary, not at all, so it won't be difficult to be reach an agreement," he said.

Reports in Lincoln, meanwhile, suggest Welton are close to reaching an agreement for GE Rustons winger Jason Tinkler.

The Socialites have been strongly linked with the former Cherry Willingham star for some time and are believed to be edging closer to striking a deal.

With his current employers known to be struggling financially, Tinkler has accepted that the time may have come to move on from Ruston Marconi.

That has alerted numerous clubs to his availability and, with money no problem, Welton have leapt to the front of the queue and with the chance for Tinkler to be reunited with former Cherry boss Lee Coupland it looks to good an opportunity to turn down for Tinkler.
