For the past two Weeks Munn has been seen on Thursday nights in peak physical condition taking his Dog Mario to behavioural classes instead of joining his team mates for training.
Club secretary James Mulhall revealed in an interview yesterday that the Club had flirted with the idea of offloading Munn in the January transfer window but they now feel that a loan move may be more beneficial with the hope that by next season Munn may have sorted his priorities out.
“It’s not good enough.” Raged Mulhall
“There’s lads turning out every week in the cold and they expect to see their Captain at training.”
“It sends the wrong messages out to our young players.”
“Obviously Alex is a player we don’t want to lose but he is blatantly breaching his contract by staying away from training so he’s left us with no choice really.”
Assistant Manager Andy Wilkinson echoed Mulhalls views
“I’ve never known things like this before in my career.”
“It’s completely unprofessional and certainly would never have happened at Golden Eagle.”
“Their were one or two lads with Rottweiler’s who really could have done with a bit of training but Mario seems like such a nice Dog anyway.”
“It’s a real shame but if the right offer comes in we can all move on and review the situation in the Summer.”
