The 22-year-old moved to Social Park for £47 in 2007 and still has three years remaining on his contract, but a new £55, five-year deal is reportedly being lined up.
Clifford has had no negotations with the club to date, but the Bottersford Town superstar will have no hesitation in putting pen to paper once an offer is on the table.
He is quoted in The Lincolnshire Echo as saying: "I am happy here and I'd sign a new contract at any time.
"I want to stay at this club for the rest of my career. I will sign an extension any time the club wants me to."
“This is the only club I’ve ever wanted to play for and already this season we’ve proved we have what it takes to be successful.”
Clifford will be hoping to bring to an end his personal Sincil Bank drought. Clifford has graced the hallowed turf six times but has never managed to score, a stat that Clifford is desperate to change this Sunday afternoon.
“It’s really frustrating!” admitted Clifford
“Obviously I’ll be looking to break my duck on Sunday afternoon but as long as we win the Cup it doesn’t matter who scores the goals.”
“If I don’t score this weekend I know that I will have other opportunities in the future playing for this club.”
