Al Taylor will support Neil Stocks if the Lincs FA decide to punish the Welton Captain over his reaction to being substituted in last weekends County Cup Final defeat.
Stocks was substituted in the 73rd minute and attacked the dugout with a water bottle when he left the field.
He was kept away from the pitch by Lincoln City stewards but the Carlton centre resident then yelled "grrrrrrrrrrrrr" straight down a live TV camera as pandemonium descended on Sincil Bank.
But with the LFA set to investigate Stocks's behaviour, Taylor insists he will stand by his skipper.
"Of course I can fully understand his reaction - full of adrenaline and emotion," said Taylor. "People say he should be in control. The moment a player starts hitting then he is going beyond where he should go.
"I can understand his emotion and his behaviour. I will protect that."
Welton forward James Drabble has also given Stocks his support, saying: "I am fully behind Stocksy for the way he reacted.
"The man wants to win. You can see the passion that he played with during the game and the disappointment at being withdrawn.
"It is difficult when players are so high on emotions during the game and people were saying in the bar afterwards that we shouldn't be reacting the way we did.
"That's impossible. How are you supposed to feel?
Welton still have the Kelly Read Cup final this Sunday against Anglers to look forward to at Sincil Bank.
"We are delighted to have the Ron Eaglen and be in the KR final.”
