WELTON PREPARE FOR COUNTY CUP LIFT OFF!

Welton Sports & Social travel to PSC Cranwell on Sunday for their fourth round tie in the Lincolnshire County Cup. Welton will be looking to get back to winning ways after being held in the league last weekend away at Victory. Welton go into the match as slight favourites but should take nothing for granted as with the magic of the County Cup, anything can happen.

Opponents PSC Cranwell are currently playing in Division one of the Grantham Sunday league but they will be somewhat of an unknown quantity to Big Al’s men.

“We don’t know too much about them” Said the Scotsman.

“But we do know that any side still in the competition at this stage are here for a reason. We need a response after last week’s performance and this gives us the perfect opportunity.”

“I sent Stanham over there the other week on a scouting mission but he got lost and ended up plane spotting on the RAF Camp so we are still none the wiser.”

While Cranwell is more renound for its aircraft than football, their footballing side has been making the headlines in recent weeks for a number of good performances and Welton will have to be at their best to progress.

In some early team news Welton are hoping Luke Clifford will return from injury, while brother Simon is still weeks away from fitness.
