LAST NIGHT SAW THE START OF PRE SEASON TRAINING FOR WSSCFC AND THERE WAS A GOOD TURN OUT ON A VERY WET EVENING FOR THE FIRST SESSION. THREE NEW PLAYERS JOINED UP WITH THE SQUAD A SHORT PLAYER PROFILE OF EACH OF THE NEW BOYS CAN BE FOUND BELOW:
JAZ DHINDSA - SHOT TO FAME IN EARLY 2003 WHEN HIS HEADER SENT PARK TIGERS OF THE UNDER 18'S PREMIER LEAGUE INTO ADMINISTRATION, ALSO THE LAST PLAYER TO SCORE FOR THE LEGENDARY WELTON UNDER 18A SIDE (THE YOUTH ACADEMY OF WSSCFC OF WHICH MANY OF THE PLAYER GRADUATED FROM) AWAY AT SKEGNESS TOWN. A CENTRE BACK WHO LOVES TO GET THE BALL DOWN AND PLAY JAZ WILL NO DOUBT BECOME A VALUBLE ADDITION TO THE SQUAD.
MATT WILKINSON - A PREVIOUS LEAGUE WINNER BACK AT UNDER 15'S LEVEL, BACK THEN MATT WAS A FLAMBOUENT LEFT WINGER WITH A BAG FULL OF TRICKS. NOW AFTER BRIEF SPELLS WITH OTHER PUB TEAMS AROUND THE AREA MATT HAS DECIDED TO PLEDGE HIS FUTURE TO WSSCFC, POTENTIALLY AS GOALKEEPER.
TOM WILKINSON - EX LINCOLN CITY PRO TOM ENJOYED A MIXED TIME AT SINCIL BANK WITH A CAREER BLIGHTED BY INJURY. NOW AFTER REJECTING THE IMPS LATEST CONTRACT OFFER IT IS LIKELY THAT BIG AL WILL SECURE TOM'S SERVICES FOR THE UPCOMING CAMPAIGN BEATING THE LIKES OF LINCOLN MOORLANDS, RETFORD AND KINGS LYNN FOR HIS SIGNATURE. YOUNGER BROTHER OF MATT THE TIRLESS MIDFIELDER/UTILITY PLAYER IS SURE TO HAVE A HUGE IMPACT UPON THE WSSCFC SIDE ALREADY BOOMING WITH POTENTIAL.
AFTER A LIGHT WARM UP FROM CAPTAIN STOCKS BIG AL SET UP SHUTTLE DRILLS FOR THE PLAYERS BEFORE THE CUSTOMARY 'PIG IN THE MIDDLE' AND 'KEEP THE BALL UP' EXERCISES. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY A 20 MINUTE TWO TOUCH GAME, TEN A SIDE.
AS FAR AS THE NEW BOYS WERE CONCERNED ALL PERFORMED WELL IN THE MINI GAME, JAZ DEFENDED WELL WITH LITTLE HELP FROM HIS TEAM MATES WHILST MATT AND TOM WILKINSON SHOWED GOOD TOUCHES AND ENERGY. THE TRAINING SESSION HOWEVER WAS MARRED BY A WORRYING INJURY TO THE OTT, FURTHER NEWS ON HIS CONDITION WILL BE POSTED AS RECIEVED. IN ADDITION TOM WILKINSON WAS CAUGHT LATE BY A TACKLE FROM CHRIS CHAPMAN CAUSING DAMAGE TO HIS LATERAL LIGAMENT IN HIS LEFT ANKLE, THOUGH IT IS THOUGHT HE WILL MAKE A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
THE SESSION WAS FOLLOWED BY A BRIEF MEETING IN THE CLUB, SUBS WILL INDEED BE INCREASED FOR THE FORTH COMING SEASON AND BREWER ANNOUCED THE THERE WILL BE FRIENDLY GAMES SCHEDULED FOR EVEY WEEKEND IN AUGUST.
