After another enthralling meeting at Social Park last night Welton manager Al Taylor has taken the bizarre step of naming his side for the Kelly Read Cup final a full three days before the match.
“I like to let the lads know whats going on and I think most people in the footballing World could probably guess what side I was going to pick.” Said Taylor
“I selected the same side for the County Cup Final that won us the Ron Eaglen. We were beaten by the better team last week but no one disgraced themselves so I have seen fit to pick pretty much the same side.”
Big Al has put his faith in these 14 men to end their superb season on a high. Ossai, Carter, Chesman, Snookes, Taylor, Stocks, S Clifford, Clifford L, Gordon, Coupland, Drabble, subs: Bowey, T Wilkinson, Warman.
“The team I havee selected is more than capable of bringing home the Kelly Read, We have quality in every area of the pitch but should we be struggling we have great options on the bench”
The two changes made to last weeks side see Joe ‘Dukey’ Snookes return at centre back in place of Matt Gordon and fan favourite James Drabble come into replace free scoring Pete Sutton.
Taylor also urged his sides supporters to make themselves heard this weekend.
"I know alot of people have spent alot of money on these finals already. I know my son David and his friend Ben have spent over £300 on hot dogs alone in the last two finals, But it is vital that we have strong vocal support in the stands."
"I urge the whole village to come down and get behind my Boys as i know it would mean alot to them and hopefully a better atmosphere will make for a truly memorable afternoon."
