Welton finished second last term recovering well after a sloppy start to the season.
Taylor has warned his side they do not have a divine right to push for the title again and expects a tougher division next season.
"We have to be humble and grounded in our expectations," the Scot told the Welton News "We did an exceptional job last time and that will create a level of expectation but it was an over-achievement for us last season. I think most people would have been happy with a top-4 finish.
"Obviously, we did much better than that. But, as a club, as footballers and as supporters, I think we have to be humble this season. It will be a very tough job again and we have to remember that we have no right to be in the top two, the top four or even the top six. We have to earn that right all over again.
“Teams like Jerusalem finished strongly last season. Victory will be genuine contenders and I expect Ruston Sports to improve, There are also teams like Swan and Adelaide that can be a real handful on their day and of course you cant forget about GE Rustons.”
“We go into the new season with nothing to fear but the standard of opposition will be higher so we need to raise our standards to stay towards the top.
