Jack's the lad for Big Al

Welton have completed the sensational signing of Free agent Jack McGovern.

The 21-year-old was out of contract after the collapse of GE Rustons and Welton Manager Big Al Taylor has sealed a bumper deal to make Mcgovern the highest paid midfielder in the premier League.

Mcgovern become Weltons 5th huge summer signing following the arrivals of Jason Tinkler, Oli furness, Joe Butler and Craig Turner.

Mcgovern had courted interest from many of Weltons Premier League rivals, but the socialites emerged as Mcgoverns preferred destination.

"At this stage of my career I couldn't have wished for a better move," said the former GE Rustons skipper.

"To join a club such as Welton S&SC, with its proud tradition, heritage and magnificent support is absolutely tremendous for me.

"I just want to play and can't wait to get started.

"There's a real buzz about the place and that's great.

"I've played at Social Park numerous times and always found it a fantastic place to play, there's always a tremendous atmosphere.

"Big Al will focus everyone together and get them ready for the season."

Taylor was delighted to secure the services of Mcgovern,

"I have watched Jack for a number of Seasons now and am fully aware of what he has to offer," Taylor added.

"That is, quality, calm assurance and leadership.

"He's a real professional, a terrific addition to the squad and I look forward to working with him.”
