Taylor: No need to panic

Welton S&SC manager Al Taylor does not feel under any extra pressure after seeing his side lose their opening two games of pre season.

Welton went down 3-2 to Lincoln United Reserves in their opening game and were beaten 4-3 by Plough Skellingtghorpe at the weekend despite Will Carters goal, but Taylor is not about to panic.

He said: "There's pressure every week on managers and players, nothing changes. What you have got to do is keep calm, keep believing in what you are doing and keep encouraging the players to do the right things and play our football.

"I've said all along that when you don't create chances and don't come out of games with many positives to look at then you start to concern yourself.

"I said last year that we started the season with just one win in three league games that we were doing the right things and it was only a matter of time and I'll say the same thing again.

"With the two performances we've lost two games that we should have won when you look at the way we played. We’ve not created as many chances as we would have like and defensively we’ve been a bit suspect at times, but there have been lots of positives."

“We’ve introduced 6 new players over the course of the two games and you expect there to be problems to start off with when you have that many new players coming in.”

“We’ve got two more games to try and find the right formation and right line up before we face Jerusalem and I’m sure it is only a matter of time before things click for us.”
