Weltons season got off to a poor start on Sunday after Jerusalem prevailed 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Monson Park.
Welton scored their opening two penalties before Coupland, Oli Furness and Joe Butler all missed from the spot which sent Welton packing despite two excellent saves from craig Turner.
"Of course, this loss is going to hurt us, We should be in the next round without a shadow of a doubt but it's all behind us and we are going to concentrate on the domestic Cups and the Premier League." said Coupland
He continued: "It's always difficult when you lose, especially when you miss a penalty and you feel like you let your team down.
"But that's why we're professionals and we must go on."
“It is a ridiculous situation we find ourselves in now where we can’t start our League campaign for two weeks then we have two weeks off after that so we can’t build up any momentum and team spirit together.”
“with all the new lads we’ve got coming in we could have done with games to get us going but that’s not going to happen.”
