Welton have opted to enforce the maximum penalty on the pair after usually mild mannered supporter “Dusty” became so enraged with the pair that a mass brawl almost erupted.
The trouble flaired when Alex Munn for no apparent reason removed Dusty’s famous orange cap/hat from his head before flinging the headwear to Tom Bowey who proceded to taunt Dusty until the Wolves fan could take it no more.
“He absolutely lost it” said onlooker and bar man Wilf.
“I’d of done the same if I was in his position. To see some one wearing your beloved hat and dancing like he was is enough to send anyone over the edge.”
"I've never seen such unbelievably bad dancing!"
CCTV footage of the incident shows Dusty trying to rain in some heavy blows on Bowey who bravely cowered in a corner before he was eventually restrained. After inciting the violence Alex Munn promptly ran away to escape the wrath of Dusty.
Although the matter was later resolved peacefully and all parties are now happy to move on from the incident, Welton chairman Clive Wilkinson moved quickly to make an example out of Bowey and Munn.
“It’s not on!” moaned Wilkinson
“Their behaviour towards a lifetime Social Club supporter was absolutely reprehensible!”
“We are trying to encourage all of our playing staff to clean up their act and hopefully this will show everyone that behaviour like this will not be tolerated.”
