Dozen of the best for Super Social

Welton finally got their league campaign up and running with a stunning 12-1 demolition of Burtons. Jason Tinkler and Joe Butler notched up 4 goals each with Scott Coupland and Oli Furness sharing the other 4 goals between them with two each in a near faultless performance from the Socialites.

Welton were forced to put Luke Clifford in goal due to Craig Turners ankle injury. Clifford was defended by a back four of carter, Snookes, Warman and Taylor with Furness, Tinkler, Allmond and Mcgovern in midfield. Scott COupland and Billy Munro were upfront with Joe Butler, Craig Cosgrove and Scott Gison on the bench.

Welton looked bright from the outset and it wasn’t long before Scott Coupland set the Socialites on their way. Great work down the right from Jason Tinkler lead to the ball being cut back to Scott Coupland who controlled and smashed the ball home with his left foot.

Welton were creating chances at will and Jason Tinkler soon doubled weltons lead this rtime popping up on the left wing before cutting into the area and smashing home a thunderous drive past the despairing keeper.

Weltons wingers kept switching flanks to great effect and the third goal again came from the left hand side but this time it was Oli Furness who skinned his man superbly before lashing home a terrific left footed drive in off the keepers near post.

Billy Munro laid on the fourth for Jason Tinkler squaring the ball across the area for Tinkler to finish delightfully with the outside of his right foot.

Scott Coupland was able to make amends for his penalty miss in the county Cup shootout after Billy Munro was upended in the area, Coupland stepped up and confidently sent the keeper the wrong way and give the Social a commanding 5 goal lead at half time.

HALF TIME Welton S&SC 5-0 Brutons FCW

Big Al was able to have the luxury of taking Scott Coupland off at half time to be replaced by Craig Cosgrove and Will Carter was given the armband for the second half.

Welton started the second half a little lack lustre and conceded a sloppy goal as Tom Dore finished well past Clifford who shortly afterwards was forced to make a remarkable save from Leigh Warmans back header somehow blasting the ball up and over the bar from 3 yards out with both feet off the ground.

Thankfully Weltons early wobble didn’t last long and normal service was soon resumed as Jason Tinkler added two more superb goals finishing brilliantly once with his right foot and once with his left.

Joe Butler and Scott Gibson were introduced to proceedings and what an impact Butler made scoring four superb goals in the space of twenty second half minutes.

Butlers first was a far post header from Oli Furness’s excellent right wing cross and his 3 other goals were finished with aplomb after exceptional play to send him charging through one on one with the Burtons keeper and the one time the Burtyons keeper did prevent Butler completing one of the best passing moves of all time the rebound fell to the impressive Furness to tap home.

So Weltons first league game proved to be worth the wait with an outstanding display all be it against vastly inferior opposition but as the old saying goes you can only beat what is in front of you.
