Taylor urges Tinkler to stay grounded

Welton boss Al Taylor urged Jason Tinkler to keep his feet on the ground after his fine display in the 12-1 home win over Burtons at Social Park on Sunday when the midfielder scored four times.

Taylor has been impressed by 21-year-old Tinkler and wants to see him produce consistently dazzling displays.

"There is no doubting the lad's ability but he's got to keep his feet firmly on the ground and keep doing what he's been doing lately," said Taylor.

"He's a first-class lad and he's got to realise that he's got to keep working hard and look after himself.

"Jason knows the expectations and he really delivered on Sunday and we want him to do that on a consistent basis.”

The victory was Weltons first of the season and Taylor said: "We knew we would have to work hard, We knew that on paper a result like that was possible but you’ve still got to go out and do it. But it was an excellent performance and three very good points.

"We scored some fine goals and the one disappointment was conceding a soft goal to prevent us keeping a clean sheet."

"It's just a shame that we now have to wait two weeks again because we need to build on this and gather some momentum heading into some tough fixtures."
