McGovern like many others was left hugely disappointed by last Years County Cup elimination in the first round where Welton battered eventual finalists Jerusalem for 85 minutes before somehow going out on Penalties.
“You always want a good County Cup run.” Said McGovern
“It’s exciting wondering who you are going to get drawn against in the next round with the chance to play in exotic locations like Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Gainsbrough.”
“I must admit though I’d love to be drawn away to a Grimsby based side.”
“On paper we’ve got a good draw this weekend but when you’re in the County Cup it’s always a bit of an anti climax playing a team from Lincoln.”
“The dream draw is a trip to Grimsby, so you can have fish and chips along the promenade in the afternoon."
