Breaking Transfer News

Welton Sports AFC are pleased to announce a late marquee signing in the form of veteran Tommy Andrews just one week before the transfer window slams shut!

It is thought the business was concluded in the players lounge after last sunday's
6-4 victory against Dynamo Varsity, but the paperwork has now been officially ratified by the premier league and it is thought the 54 year will begin training with the lads this week in a bid to get his match fitness up in time for the remaining games of the season.

Manager Mark Daly commented 'I am delighted to add a bit of much needed experience to the squad for the business end of the season. It helps that the lads already know Tommy as he has been our stand in club doctor for the past season since the departure of joint manager scally. He had a trial with us a few years back in a friendly against heighington and it was clear from that brief appearence that he had a deadly left foot!'

Tommy is said to be delighted with the big money move to Division two leaders Welton Sports and rumours are rife that the transfer fee is in the region of £2.50 which is bigger than the maximum club fine of £2.38 handed out to youngster steve smith last week for his pitch side rant!

Tommy has been given the honour of the famous number 7 shirt and will follow in the footsteps of his favourite everton player new signing 'Nikica Jelevic'. This is one of the proudest days of my life he commented.

Manager Daly also commented 'I am delighted to also welcome back seasoned pro James Mulhall (aka moley) back into the fold this weekend after his long battle with injury this season. Having played for Welton for 26 years, the big man will also add much needed experience and a calm head as we push for cup and league honours. He trained well on thursday and is likely to be on the bench on sunday'

Welton Sports AFC fans are advised to get to the Kelly Read quarter final against local rivals Scothern early as it has just been announced as a sell out and the village hall parking has been reserved for the team coaches. This could mean many fans having to park and walk to the ground.
