Drabble - I'm Staying Put

In-demand striker James Drabble has made it clear he has no intention of leaving Welton S&SC.
The Estate Agent is currently on holiday as he looks to rest before next season. Drabble has had a series of sensational campaigns in the Lincoln Sunday Premier League following his move from Scothern 5 summers ago and he carried his form throughout last season, leading the club's scoring charts alongside professional joiner Scott Coupland.
But recently his ever-increasing playboy lifestyle has been subject to fierce debate amongst the Welton hierachy and it is thought that he was considering his future at the club. New FVA Jerusalem boss Jonny Bell was reportedly looking to test the waters with a massive bid for the casual assassin but Welton have already dismissed claims that they would consider selling Drabble and now the player has confirmed his intention to remain at Social Park.
"I want to say very clearly that I'm not on the market and that it's my desire to continue at Welton," he told the Welton News. "I'm very happy there and I want to carry on. I came to the club to win trophies. I have many years left on my contract and I expect to win some silverware there."
Drabble insists that he is hungrier than ever to win things with Welton."I have gone through things I have never experienced before, like playing in a Ron Eaglen final," he said. "Now that I have come within touching distance of glory I want it all. I know now what it means to be a champion and that's made me even happier and hungrier for success."
Drabble also dismissed suggestions that rumours of changes in the Welton backroom staff has unsettled him. "What has happened behind the scenes at the club has nothing to do with me. I don't pay much attention to that stuff or to any of the problems. It hasn't affected me at all." It is thought that performance analyst Lee Coupland is being lined up to replace Drabble's close allie Mac Sawyer as Big Al's right-hand man.
