Sutton extends Welton contract.
On a relatively quiet transfer deadline day so far, Welton fans will be relieved to know that winger Peter Sutton, 24, has extended his current deal until 2011. Sutton played a major role in helping Welton secure maximum points in Sundays league opener away at newly promoted Hunters Leap. The wide man converted a spot kick to put Welton ahead before they were pegged back by a Hunters Leap equaliser. But it was a moment of magic from the former Sleaford Town winger as he skipped down the wing, evading 3 defenders before pulling the ball back to the onrushing Luke Clifford to tap in from yards out. Not only has Sutton extended his contract with the club but he has also retired from playing for former club Sleaford Town making himself available every week for the club. Welton manager Big Al early spoke of his delight to Welton News. “ I have always been a big admirer of Sutdog (Sutton) and am delighted to have him on board for all of our season. Im hoping he will help us achieve some silverware this season”
