CARTER SET FOR EASTERN PROMISE?
Rumours are surfacing from various sources across the middle east that Welton superstar Will Carter could be set to make a sensational transfer to Dubai based side Al Barsha.
Carter missed last weeks 10 0 demolition of division 6 minnows Newton United because he was sent away to improve Weltons profile in the middle east.
Since arriving in Dubai though Carter has been seen training with Dubaian amateur premier league side Al Barsha and after impressing at training he could be in line for a shock debut against Al Sufouh this evening.
WSSCFC.BLOGSPOT.COM have been unable to make contact with Carter but we have been in contact with now former agent Al Sawyer."I spoke to Will earlier this week and he informed me that he no longer requires my services and he has hired a new agent."
WSSCFC.BLOGSPOT.COM understands that the agent Sawyer speaks of is former Welton player and Dubai based businessman Jon Clifford, which adds further speculation to Carters future plans. Commenting on the rumours Al Barsha manager Dan Matthews confirmed that he has been in contact with Carter.
"As soon as I heard Will was coming out here I immediatley made it my number 1 priority to get him involved with Al Barsha. I have been in constant daily contact with the player since his arrival in Dubai nearly 2 weeks ago and I can confirm that Will has trained with us and I can also confirm that we are preparing a significant bid for the player."
"Will has impressed me in training and and a player of Wills stature would do wonders for us on the pitch and commercially off it."Al Barsha are owned by Arabian Billionaire Sheik Zayheed and he is also keen to bring Carter to the middle east as he believes that Carter is the most marketable player in the Lincoln Sunday league.
With seemingly endless resources at his disposal the Sheikh appears to be set to test the resolve of Welton owner Clive Wilkinson who would be in no position to offer Carter a similar financial package.Despite the transfer speculation it must come as a relief to Welton boss Big Al Taylor to know that Carter has been keeping himsel
