Zverner out to slay Social
Clayton Sports striker George Zverner has told www.wsscfc.blogspot.com that nothing would give him more pleasure than to ‘bring Welton back down to earth’ on Sunday.Alastair Taylor’s Welton meet Damien Pridham’s Claytons at Lee Road this weekend in what has already been billed as a promotion six-pointer.
Welton have made a stunning start to their Sills & Betteridge title charge, four league wins on the bounce has seen the north Lincoln village join rivals GE Millers on 12 points at the top of the table. And Zverner, with three goals to his name already this term, has exclusively told www.wsscfc.blogspot.com that he would love to put one over the Socialites in Sunday’s forthcoming fixture.
“It’s something I’ve dreamt about since the fixture list was announced in June,” said Zverner.“Welton are a team with strength in every area, however I know how good I am and what I am capable of and if I’m on the money on Sunday they will be in trouble.”
Claytons themselves have had a mixed start to their Sills & Betteridge campaign – dropped points at Metheringham and GE Millers resulting in Pridham’s men languishing in fifth position after four games. However, despite the shaky start, Zverner is confident Claytons will be fired up for Sunday’s showdown.
“There is no doubt where I will be on Saturday night and it certainly won’t be LN2,” said the Claytons marksman.“I know Dean Szendrey has joked about a few beers Saturday night but we will leave the partying until after the game.“We are ready, make no mistake about that.”
George Zverner first goalscorer on Sunday 6/1 with Skybet.
