BIG AL PLAYS DOWN "CLIFFORD L" BUST-UPWelton Sports & Social manager Alistair Taylor has moved quickly to deny any claims of a changing room bust-up with top scorer Luke Clifford.
Clifford reacted angrilly to the postponement of last Sundays cup game against CW Golden Eagle and took out his frustration on his manager with a tirade of abuse.
The Spar businessman had this to say on the matter:
"There has been a lot of fuss made about nothing!"
"Luke was very annoyed the referee decided to call the game off and Sunday as he has been itching for weeks to get back playing in a Welton shirt. Everyone wanted to play but Luke even more so having been out of action for the past few weeks."
When asked if any disciplinary action would be taken Taylor responded:
"No, i am pleased Luke reacted how he did, it shoes just how passionate he is about his football. Although I might get him to buy me a beer after the game on Sunday" Taylor joked.
Luke Clifford is expected to make his return from injury this Sunday in the rearranged Ron Eaglen cup tie at home to CW Eagle.
