We must start brightly - Carter

Will Carter admits he and his Welton team-mates must ditch their tag as slow starters if they are to steer clear of a Ron Eaglen Cup upset on Sunday morning.

Social were 2-0 down after 15 minutes at FSC Victory in their last league outing and went 1-0 down at Cramwell in the County Cup after barely a minute was on the clock before battling back to progress 6-3

"I don't know why it keeps happening," said centre back Carter.

"There have been a lot of games this season when we have had a really bad start. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot and we struggle from there.

"We keep saying we need to address it and we have been trying to sort it out, but in every game this season in which we've gone behind early on we have looked the better team afterwards.

"When we do go down we have the mindset that we have nothing to lose, so we have to start like that and take the game to the other team."

“We know that on paper we are expected to win on Sunday but if we let them get a glimmer of hope it will make it hard for ourselves.”

“We all need to be brave in the opening exchanges of games. By that I mean we have all got to want the ball when the scores are level.”

“It is easy to play pretty football when we are 4 and 5 goals up but too many of us are not asking for the ball when the game is all square or we are losing.”
