LURCH PUSHING FOR RECALL
Welton Sports & Social forward Joe ‘Lurch’ Drabble returns to the squad this weekend ahead of the Socialites 2nd round Ron Eaglen cup clash. Drabble, 22, has spent the majority of the first half of the season on loan at Leeds outfit Bainbridge United where he has been in scintillating form scoring 6 goals in 7 appearances.
It is this form that has caught the attention of manager Alistair Taylor who moved quickly in recalling the talisman to his squad.
“We have been thin on the ground in recent weeks, and we have a hectic schedule over the festive season so I am looking to bolster my squad where possible. Lurchie (Joe) has been banging the goals in for Bainbridge and I have been impressed by his contribution and he is in the frame for Sundays game”
http://www.wsscfc.blogspot.com/ managed to catch up with Lurch relaxing in his local The Regent, Chapel Allerton.
“I am looking forward to it” Said the journalist.
“It’s a competition I love playing in (Ron Eaglen) and I had a good taste of it last season when we reached the final at Sincil Bank and I want to go one further this time round.”
“I hope to be involved in some way or another on Sunday morning, It would be great to get on the scoresheet and celebrate in the club afterwards with a few bottles of magners, but and the end of the day it’s the gaffa’s decision and I respect what he decides.
