Welton's Reserve team captain James ‘The Mole’ Mulhall believes the Fred Quibbel junior cup will be taking pride of place in the Social Park trophy cabinet by the end of this season.
The veteran defender is confident Mark Dayleys' men have the capability to go all the way this term - starting with a victory against Potterhamworth on Sunday.
The Mole believes Welton have the ability to end their 23-year wait for a trophy.
He said: "I think we can win it, we are a great club and we have got a great manager.
"I am very pleased to be part of this team because it is going places.
"It is up to the players to get our heads down, make it happen and take us forward.
"We have to get further than we did last year and it is up to us to make that happen."
Welton know all about Sundays opponents after they narrowly beat them 4-1 earlier on this season.
Mulhall however was not born yesterday and he realizes that Potterhamworth will be out for revenge this time around.
However, he is still backing Welton to get past the South Lincoln village side and he added he is expecting them to adopt some negative tactics to try and stifle Socials attacking threat.
He added: "They will try and catch us on the break and we will have to be careful with how we go about things and how we get possession and how we use it.
"It will not be free flowing because they will come here with a defensive job in mind. But I have every confidence in my team and I think there is a great chance we will be making a trip to Sincil Bank .
