Dhindsa denies Taylor feudWelton star Jaz Dhindsa has denied suggestions he is trying to oust Alastair Taylor from his job at Social Park.
Taylor’s job has come under threat in recent weeks after seven years in charge of the club with assistant manager Lee Coupland being lined up as a possible replacement.
Reports have suggested player power is trying to remove Taylor from his post with Dhindsa, Craig Cosgrove and Lee Warman allegedly key in persuading Welton owner Clive Wilkinson to consider axing Taylor at the end of the 2008/09 season.
Welton defender Dhindsa has expressed his surprise at the claims and insists he has a good relationship with Taylor.
"I couldn't believe this," Dhindsa said.
"I was surprised when I heard about the rumours as I have always had a lot of good words to say about Al.
"It's normal Wilinson (Clive) comes in the dressing-room and speaks with players. It's not easy, not nice to get someone sacked. This was in the papers, but is definitely not true. "There is no backing or basis for this. I’ve had a good relationship with every coach, even Stuart Gratrick.
"It's speculation which appears in newspapers. I was disappointed as I couldn't react because I was drunk."
Dhindsa believes Coupland isn’t the right man to succeed Taylor and believes he could have a negative impact on the club.
"He's an inexperienced, passionate coach who needs to get the right blend of success and fun at the club.
“He must realise that Saturday nights before Tower away are going to result in one thing and one thing only.”
