Rash ready to rock n roll

Welton midfielder Rashid Begag has expressed his happiness at Social Park after agreeing in principal to a new 12 week contract.

The Algerian international was strongly linked with a move away from the Socialites as he has become increasingly frustrated with his lack of game time for both the reserves and the firsts.

“It is frustrating” admitted Begag

“But I love life at Social, I get on well with all the lads and I feel part of the family.”

Begag was strongly linked with a switch to Division 6 duo Newtoft Terriers and Welton FC throughout the January transfer window, but due to freak weather conditions on deadline day Begag was unable to get to Welton FC for his medical.

However with Socials recent spate of injuries Begag was then offered a new contract with the Socialites which sources close to the player say he has agreed to. This will add an extra 12 weeks to his contract taking him to the end of the season.

Begag, who appeared mysteriously in 2006, should sign the deal in the next few days and he admits he had no qualms in pledging his future to Al Taylors side.

"I've always said that I'm very happy here and signing this contract will show my commitment," Begag told the club's official website.

"I'm determined to have a big impact in the next three months and help get this club some silverwear.

Weltons chairman Clive Wilkinson added: "I've been speaking to Rashy regularly throughout the transfer window and we are delighted to agree this new contract.

"He is a key member of our squad and we look forward to him playing a central role in our push for glory this season.
