Double disappointment for Carter.

Welton right back Will Carter admits losing the County Cup final was the biggest disappointment of his career so far but he is more dissapointed with members of the Media trying to derail the remainder of Welton season.

“I was gutted on Sunday afternoon to be honest. We were beaten by the better team but it’s still hard to take. But I thought the way the whole squad pulled together after the game was good and how everyone stayed in the club and celebrated Ross's Birthday and reaching the final together as a team was testament to everyone at this Club.”

Welton have a chance this Sunday to end their brilliant season on a high when they take on Anglers Saxilby in the Kelly Read final. But Carter is baffled by talk in the media about players leaving Welton next season.

“I’m baffled!” declared Carter.

“What people do next season is up to them. I’ve heard all sorts of rumours flying around in the press and I just don’t think it’s helpful at this stage of the season.”

“We’ve got a chance to end our season on a real high on Sunday and all people are talking about is how this side is going to fall apart next season.”

“There are some trouble makers out their who for some reason think talking about next season is more important than our third Cup Final.”

“If people want to move on next season then so be it. We’re all mates at the end of the day and whatever people decide to do I know that won’t affect my relationship off the field with them. I for one will not be leaving as I feel I’m part of one of the best Football Clubs in Lincolnshire both on and off the field.”

“I think we all need to pull together for one last effort this season and put aside any talk of next season till after Sunday when we’ve got The Kelly Read sat on the shelf next to the Ron Eaglen.” Concluded Carter
