Last weekends 5-0 romp that has now sent Clayton wanderers into administration booked Welton into their fourth Ron Eaglen Cup final in 5 seasons. "I have been here a while now and have finished second in the League and runners up in the Ron Eaglen and County Cup," said stocks.
"Sometimes it is like that in football. You just have to make sure you give everything to reach what you want to reach - I know it is not enough to be second.
"We have been close and sometimes a bit unlucky but that is behind us, that is what we can't change.
"What we can change is the future and hopefully there are many trophies to come and the Ron Eaglen Cup final is the first one we will have a crack at.
"That is what Welton S&SC Football Club is about. It was when I first arrived here almost a decade ago.
"I came here to win trophies and that is the spirit of the players, the manager and the club so it is good to be in two finals again and hopefully we can go on from here.
"We are all desperate to win another trophy and that's the target.
"It's great to be in a final again and now hopefully we can finish it off."
Welton will face Fox and Hounds for whom this will be their first appearance at Sincil Bank and Stocks believes they are well worth their place in the final,
“Fox and Hounds are a very good side, They are better than a lot of teams in the Premier League so we are under no illusions that it will be a case of turning up and winning.
“They have some very good players Joe Butler and Craig Leverett in particular.”
“Both finals that we are in are very tough but that is what you expect when you get to the final of big competitions like the Ron Eaglen Cup and the County Cup.”
