Smith hopes Drabbles career goes in one direction!

Welton Sports AFC lothario Steve Smith has slammed former team mate James Drabble branding him “Judas” for his cross village switch to Kelly Read Cup holders Welton S&SC drawing an angry response from the journeyman centre forward.

“It’s not the fact that he has moved that has riled me.” Said Smith

“If a player wants to leave then that’s fine, If he wants to go and sign for your local rivals then so be it.”

“But to celebrate in the manner he did on Sunday when he scored for them against Market Rasen is unforgivable!” ranted the Harry Styles look alike

“He is a judas!”

The Young Welton Sports starlet was referring to Drabbles over zealous goal celebration in front of the John Stanham stand after the powerful striker slammed home a trademark strike from the edge of the area at the start of the second half of Sundays dower pre season friendly with George Market Rasen.

Drabble was mobbed by his new team mates before he appeared to kiss the badge on his blue and white shirt a reaction that Smith felt was uncalled for.

“It was uncalled for!” concluded Smith

Smith’s rant drew an angry response from Drabble.

“The gall of the man!”

“What’s it got to do with him how I celebrate my goals?”

“I intended no disrespect towards Welton Sports AFC it was just an out pouring of emotion, I was relieved to get a goal on my return to my boyhood Club especially after I had already missed a sack full of chances in the first half.”

“I wanted to show the supporters that I was happy to be back and hopefully that goal will be the first of many.”

“We all get a bit carried away when we score, He (Smith) should know that more than anyone shouldn’t he!”

Drabble was of course referring to an incident when Smith famously nearly sparked a riot with his over the top goal celebration at Newton United two seasons ago revealing a message saying “GET IN THE HOLE” A message that landed Smith in hot water as Newton fans mis interpreted it as a Nazi sympathetic slur against the Newton fans ancestors.

Drabble is unlikely to face any sort of FA investigation but the bad blood between the two former team mates is likely to rumble on.
