SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED…

Big Al has captured two players who he believes could be influential ‘older heads’ this season as both Mark Daley and Matty ‘Mayhem’ Wilkinson penned season long deals in front of a packed club on Thursday night. These additions will compound the selection nightmare faced by the gaffer as he assembles a squad whose size is only surpassed by the epic proportions of the MMML.

The evergreen utility man Daley added his name to the roster for another year despite initially suggesting he may have revealed his chode in the club’s changing rooms for the last time at the end of the 2006/7 season. The sprightly 64 year old, who is a postman in his spare time, said ‘The club offered me a first class package and I hope to be able to deliver top class performances for at least another 12 months.’

Meanwhile ‘Mayhem’, the older brother of recent signing Tom Wilkinson, finally ended protracted contract negotiations by agreeing personal terms with the club. The much-travelled journeyman was keen to argue that he has by no means joined WS&SCFC to become a bit-part squad member adding that he ‘would be pushing eccentric shot-stopper Michael Jones all the way for the number one jersey’ and felt that he had would not go the way of other ‘unfinished articles’ such as his close friend Tom Curtis.
