Welton S&SC have confirmed the signing of free agent Joe Butler on a four-year contract making him the highest paid full back in the Sunday League.
The 24-year-old left back is one of a number of free agents after the summer capitulation of GE Rustons at the end of last season.
Butler was linked with a number of Premier League sides, including Adelaide and Victory, but has opted to move to Social Park.
Butler is the third major Summer arrival at Welton after Jason Tinkler and Oli Furness both joined earlier this Month.
The former GE Rustons and Cherry Willingham Man is regarded as one of the best left sided players in Sunday League football and can either play on the wing or at full back.
Welton boss Al Taylor said he is delighted to have Butler at his service.
“I’m delighted” said Taylor
“Joe is an exceptional player and he has raw pace.”
“At the end of last Season I said we needed to bring in a couple of quality additions and the lads we have brought in so far are certainly that.”
“Joe Butler will be a vital player for us this Season.”
