Reserves Roll Over Bass

Basingham v Welton S&SC Reserves

The Reserves latest pre-season outing saw them take the trip to Division 1 side Bassingham. After a bright start Welton took the lead inside 5 minutes. They soon added a second, before Bassingham managed to pull one back. The rest of the game continued at a canter for the Reserves who easily by-passed their opposition with some slick football. The pick of the goals coming from young Steve Smith.
Full Time – Bassingham 1 Welton 10 (we think, but could be 12)

Wilkinson – 7 – Literally had nothing to do.
Brooks – 7 – Offered extra width down the right.
Mulhall – 7 – Captains role.
Jones – 7 – Little to do but there when needed.
Carlile – 7 – Rarely tested, left the game after a horror challenge after 70 mins.
Bierdy – 8 – A good display capped with two goals.
Sawyer – 8 – Two goals for the midfield man.
Cooper – 7 – Got a good run out, plenty of life left in them legs.
Munn – 10 – Flawless, 2 goals and ran the show. Munn of old.
Ottewell – 9 – A constant thorn in the right backs side, on the score sheet too.
Mitch – 8 – Played the lone man well in the absence of Ronnie and scored.

Gibson – 7 – Slotted into the untested back 4.
Smith – 8 – Scored twice, one which will see early retirement.
???????
Schaer – 7 – Came on for Carlile, missed an open goal.
