Final venue confirmed

Welton S&SC’s eagerly awaited County Cup final against seven Seas will be held at the Bradley Football development centre in Grimsby on Sunday the 29th of April. The news of the venue brought a mixed reaction from Manager Al Taylor and his players.

“We’ve said all along it didn’t matter where the game was played but to have the game played 2 minutes away from the oppositions pub is probably not ideal for us.” said Taylor

“Having said that the Facilities are said to be outstanding and the surface will be outstanding so we can have no complaints about that.”

The Bradley sports centre was officially opened by former England Manager Graham Taylor in March last Year and Welton against Seven Seas will be the first county cup final to be played at the Multi Million pound development.

Welton full back Will Carter admitted to being a little underwhelmed about the venue when he first heard the news.

“I was disappointed when I first heard the venue but since learning a bit about the place I have warmed to it.”

“The Pitches look fantastic and I’m sure the pitch will probably be better than Sincil Bank which is more important than having three empty stands around you.”

“It’s definitely an advantage for Seven seas but it would have been the same for them if the game was at Sincil Bank again.”

“It’s not ideal for our supporters but I’m sure the die hards will make the most of it and take it in the sights and sounds of cleethorpes for the weekend.”
