Taylor: We're still underdogs

Welton S&SC boss Al Taylor said the Premier League title is still Victory’s to lose despite seeing his side complete their hectic mission to set up next Weeks crucial showdown with Victory by beating Jerusalem 2-1 at Social Park last night.Welton cut the gap at the top to 3 points last night and their superior goal difference means the equation at the top of the table could not be simpler.

But, despite that, Taylor feels it may be too little too late.

Taylor said: "Victory are a fantastic team and they’ll be confident of getting the draw they need against us because they have so much strength in depth.

"For us it is important that we finish this good season for us well. This is the best season since 2009 and this is important.

"I fight always, every day, and also my team but now I think it is too late.

"I think we have fantastic spirit at the moment but it will be difficult for us because they will pull out every trick in the book next Week to insure we don’t win the game.

“I am delighted for my players though they can head to Sheffield tonight for the darts and enjoy themselves knowing that when they come back they have potentially 5 games to win 4 trophies.”
