Furness eyes transfer to Welton

Former Rustons striker Olly Furness says he would welcome a move to Welton.

The Nettleham born winger left Rustons just three months ago for Norwegian outfit Viking Stavanger. As yet there has been no formal bid for the player from Welton, but the Social Park side are rumoured to be considering a bid in the region of £50. "If it can happen, it will be amazing," the 24-year-old told the Welton Evening news. During his time at Rustons, Furness scored 15 times in 49 appearances for the club. Since moving to Viking, he has scored three goals in six games. "To play for Welton would just be unbelievable," he said. "They are a big club in Lincoln and I think they are the best club in the East Midlands. "I would be proud to get the chance to play for Welton.
