New Season Preview

The team registrations for next season have been published. The teams playing in the Sills & Betteridge Sunday Premier League next season are as follows:

GE Millers Arms FC
Welton S&SC
FSC Victory
Ruston Sports
Metheringham
Tower Athletic
Travellers Rest
FC Hunters Leap
Claytons Sports
The Lord T. FC
FVA Jerusalem

Those of you with a keen eye will have noticed that league winners Golden Eagle are not amongst that list, that is because they will now be known as 'GE Millers Arms FC'. New side Clayton Sports are made up of several former Golden Eagle players from last season and are tipped to make a strong appearance next term. The only other new side is FC Hunters Leap, with Lord T. FC and FVA Jerusalem being promoted from Division 1 last season. The sides to make an exit are relegated outfits Waddington FC and Greenbank (now known as Sporting Lincoln) - along with the noteable absence of Stags FC who folded mid-season. Each team will now play 20 league matches, as opposed to the 18 last season.
Elsewhere, Welton S&S Reserves enter in Division 5 and new rivals Welton FC enter in Division 6.

Local bookies, Drabbrokes.com, have made GE Millers Arms FC favourites to retain their crown at 7-2, with Welton S&SFC close behind at 4-1. It is likely that these odds will change as the transfer window opens on July 1st.
