Tinkler opts for Social park switch

Jason Tinkler has told Cherry he wants to join Welton rather than Golden Eagle or Victory - and the two clubs are now in advanced talks.

The three clubs all met the Championship club's asking price, believed to be £5million, for the midfielder, and the Cherry management were happy for Tinkler to decide where he wanted to move to.
The 21 year-old has held talks with all three clubs and has now decided upon a move to Social Park, having flown out to Switzerland to meet Welton boss Al Taylor.
A statement on Cherrys official website read: "Cherry Willingham were informed on Friday morning that Jason Tinklers preferred destination this summer is at Social park Stadium with Welton.
"We will now continue the dialogue with a view with a view to jason’s move being completed.
"The move unlike other options, however, does not include a loan back period at Cherry tree Park for the 2008/09 season."
Reports have claimed that Cherry were keen for Tinkler to join Eagle as the Premier League champions were willing to agree a loan deal for next season.
However, Welton have put up the most persuasive argument for Tinkler and will now try to finalise a deal with Cherry.
The 21-year-old has become one of the hottest properties in British football after a promising second season last season,
