Taylor eyes transfer progress

Welton S&SC boss Al Taylor hopes to close in on several targets soon and has urged Simon Clifford to pledge his future to the club.

Clifford, who is set to become a free agent later this summer, is currently mulling over the offer of a new deal and has been linked with Eagle, Victory and Claytons Crusaders.
But Taylor wants the former Travellers rest trainee to remain at the Social Park as Welton prepare for another assault on the Premiership.
"Simon has been excellent for us and we want to keep him," said Taylor.
"We are waiting to hear back from Simon and hopefully before the weekend or next week we will have heard something.
"I think in the next week we will hopefully tie up one or two things in terms of getting Simon signed and progressing with one or two other deals and then we've got a little break again before we come back pre-season."
