Snookes set for Welton move

Welton have agreed a fee with Sleaford United for the transfer of Joe Snookes, according to the Sleaford clubs website.

The 21-year-old former Lincoln academy player, who spent last season at Sleaford United, is now set to travel to Social Park to discuss personal terms. "We have agreed a transfer fee with Welton,"
a Sleaford spokesman told the club website. The central defender was a hit at Sleaford and scored on his debut against Heckington in the Lincolnshire Cup. Last month, Snookes, who also spent half a season on loan at Ruskington, was reported to be part of an exchange deal which would see midfielder Rashid Began head to Sleaford. The former Lincoln City trainee will become Welton boss Alistair Taylors first signing of the summer.
