Coupland blasts Social Welton

Welton S&SCFC assistant manager Lee Coupland has blasted Weltons top stars for their off field activities which he fears could eventually cost Welton in their search for silverware this season.

Many of Weltons starting eleven on Sunday were heavily under the influence of alcohol from late night drinking sessions on both Friday and Saturday night.

"Most of them turned up late and half of them were barely in a fit enough state to start the game!” ranted Coupland
“I’m not going to name players because they have been fined and dealt with by the Club and the players in question will be made to train with the reserves on Thursday night!”

Although Coupland refused to name the players it is thought that the players in question are Will Carter who was snapped at an illegal rave hosted by Carter in an outbuilding on his Lincolnshire estate.

Joe Snookes, James Drabble and Pete Sutton were all photographed together in Lincoln city centre on Saturday night with fellow sportsman Ryan ‘Sidy’ Sidebottom and Friday night where they were joined by Will Carter and Ross Taylor. Carter, Snookes and Drabble were all seen posing for photographs with various local girls desperate to get a photo with the Welton superstars. An onlooker witnessed the Welton stars actions in local cocktail bar Revolution on Friday Night.

“The lads all came in at about 10 o clock. They were all shouting ping, pang pong at each other for some reason? They were all fairly well behaved but they’d clearly been drinking for hours. Girls were throwing themselves at them left right and centre, I was quite jealous if I’m honest”

This is not the first time Carter and Drabble have both felt the wrath of the Welton Hierarchy for their drunken antics. Both Carter and Drabble were not even named as substitutes for last seasons county cup clash against Ancaster Rams as both were deemed unfit to play. Carter has also been in hot water before that, when he was sick on the pitch against Golden Eagle three seasons ago.

A source in the changing room on Sunday morning who wishes to remain anonymous told wsscfc.blogspot how Joe Snookes was gloating about a two hour alcohol fuelled sex romp with a local model that went on until 4 am. Less than 6 hours before the players were supposed to report for their pre match preperations.

The source also confirmed that Neil Stocks was in Lincoln City centre on Saturday evening. Assistant manager Coupland had already criticised the players mentioned and he is said to have gone ballistic when Welton captain Neil Stocks strolled into the changing room at 10 past 10. Almost half an hour late. The dim witted Stocks confessed to seeing most of the reserve team in dinghy city centre bar trebles for singles at 1 am.

Couplands rant was heeded by most of the squad but sources in Welton claim that Will Carter and Simon Clifford were seen staggering out of the players lounge at Social Park at 9:30 pm after a 9 hour afternoon binge where they were joined by Reserve team comedians Alex Munn and Liam ‘Leeds’ Rawlings.

Coupland will surely hope that this will not continue and had Welton been faced with tougher opposition on Sunday morning the Social drinkers could have been made to rue their actions by throwing away the league title.
