Rowland criticises Sutton snub

Sleaford Town boss Brian Rowland has questioned Pete Suttons loyalty after the winger snubbed a return to his former side to stay with Welton Sports & Social Club.
The Ruskington born wideman impressed with Sleaford last term and Rowland was willing to pay £100 to secure his services ahead of their FA Cup tie against Stamford. Builder Rowland said: "Everyone knows being grateful or loyal in football does not exist anymore." Sutton signed for Welton at the start of the season after snubbing a new contract offer from Sleaford Town and has no regrets about his decision,
“Im enjoying life at Welton, on and off the pitch. Im playing 90 minutes every week and scoring goals” commented the sales negotiator.
Sutton’s impressive start to the new campaign has propelled Welton to the top of the table with 3 wins out of 3, In these 3 games Sutton has also helped himself to 2 goals one of which was a sensational strike against Ruston Sports and this form attracted interest from his former side. Sleaford manager Rowland was looking to add to his attacking options ahead of the biggest game of the clubs history. Welton confirmed they were approached by the South Lincolnshire outfit but instantly rejected the approach for one of their prize assets.Sutton also went on to tell Radio Lincolnshire
“Its always flattering when a club show interest in you but I have got a contract with Welton until 2011 and I can assure the Welton fans I will be honouring that and I have no intentions of leaving.”
