Taylor eyes another unbeaten run

Welton manager Al Taylor described the shock 4-3 defeat at Claytons on Sunday morning as a "kick up the backside" for the Village side.

The Socials' 6-game winning streak in all competitions came crashing to a halt as Dean Szendrys hat trick secured a first win in 2 for the hosts.

"The run is over and the way we performed was worrying," Taylor said.

"When we went a goal up, on three separate occasions the players tried to stretch our lead in the game as individuals. They didn't stick together and there were no leaders out there on the pitch.

"Maybe if we had scored the fourth goal before they got their third it might have been different, but with ten men it was very hard.

"I think the defeat is the kick up the backside that maybe a few of the players needed. Hopefully we can now go on another unbeaten run. Starting this Sunday"

Welton are in County cup action this weekend against Boston based side The Newcastle.
