The Welton strikers new look has come in for mixed reviews on social networking sight facebook and experts in footballing circles believe it has created more contreversey than when David Beckham pulled off his beany hat at filbert street in 2001 to reveal his new shaved look.
weltons&scfc.blogspot.com managed to get hold of Drabble to try and discover the reason behind his radical new look.

"Two reasons really, I'm sick off getting pushed around by opposition defenders and I think the new look makes me look pretty hard, when I looked in the mirror this morning I hardly reckognised myself and I thought to myself f#*k me who is that nutter? I wouldn't want to meet him down a dark alley, so hopefully this will make opposition centre halfs think twice about fouling me!"
Drabble came in for heavy criticism for his first half display against the Peter De Wint in his last outing for Welton when some members of his team accused Drabble of being scared of the De Wint defenders. A claim which Drabble denies
"No I wasn't!" argued Drabble
"The second reason I think my hair was holding me back when it came to winning headers and in particualr the accuracy of my headers."
"The ball would be played up to me and I'd just have no control over where the ball would go purely because my hair was so thick."
Welton fans will be hopeing that the removal of his flowing dark locks will not effect the strikers recent purple patch in front of goal.
" I am a supersticious player" confessed Drabble
"I hope that shaving my hair off wont effect my performances, I've still got my lucky sweatband and I'm still wearing Carters Jomas which seem to have been the catalyst for my recent performances and I still havent cleaned them so I'm fairly confident that It'll be business as usual for me On Sunday."
Drabble went onto add
"If I dont score I'll be stright back round to the barbers to glue my hair back on. They've got it all saved for me in 10 bin bags just in case" joked the comical striker
See the New look James Drabble this Sunday morning as Welton aim to continue their assault on the Kelly Reid cup.
