HALF DOZEN DELIGHT FOR COUPLANDScott Coupland achieved a milestone that few footballers ever have or ever will reach. The striker hit the back of the net on six occasions during last Sundays 10 – 0 demolition of Peter De Wint. Coupland has now clocked up 13 goals already this season and is well on his way to surpassing last seasons impressive total of 36 goals in league and cup competitions.
http://www.wsscfc.blogspot.com/ caught up with the joiner relaxing in the surroundings of his home on Oxen Park Close,
“It was a very emotional day for me”
“Having time to reflect on Sundays performance, it was definitely one of the greatest days of my illustrious sporting career”
“To score 6 goals in one game is a dream come true, but to do it against such a team as De Wint, well that’s just the icing on the cake”
Coupland had a very successful weekend in general, the 22 year old was part of a Moorland side who won 8 – 0 on Saturday, he then went on to win the FIFA 09 tournament Saturday night, and then played a major role in Weltons 10 – 0 cup success over De Wint, scoring 6 himself.
Coupland joked “ The only thing missing from the weekend was my 6 numbers coming up on the lottery! Even Everton won.”
Club secretary Mark Brewer has been researching through the clubs history books and cannot remember the last time a player achieved the feat.
“I am sure it has been done in the past, but certainly not in the last 30years since I have been playing at the club. Drabble and Ward have both scored 5 in a game before but no double hat tricks are on record” Said the travel agent.
