All AL wants for Christmas is Bow

Welton Sports and Social boss Al Taylor has confirmed the high-flying club are in talks with former Social park superstar Tom Bowey about a return to Social Park.

Bowey was a revelation last season as the Socialites fired their way to their best league finish for 55 years and a Ron Eaglen Cup final at Sincil Bank.

The 23-year-old's stellar performances saw Bowey score twice in last seasons 5-4 epic against Golden Eagle. His exciting attacking style made him an instant hero at Social Park but sadly due to work commitments Bowey moved on to pastures new but after an unhappy 5 months in the Leeds Sunday league Bowey is ready to return home.

Welton are keen to tie down their former ace to a new long-term deal to ward off potential suitors and Taylor believes Bowey deserves a second chance.

"I've already had two meetings with his agent. We're very close to a deal," Taylor told Radio Lincolnshire.

“He never wanted to leave us in the first place but that’s life and I hope that our supporters will welcome him back.”

Some sections of Weltons supporters were outraged at Weltons decision to let Bowey leave. Protesters stood outside Social Park burning Tom Bowey masks as they thought he had done the dirty on them. A point that Taylor always stressed was not the case.

“I can not stress enough Tom didn’t want to leave us but circumstances at the time meant he had to.”

“We hope Bow will put pen to paper on Sunday afternoon if Droopsy remembers the signing on form then he should be ready for action in the New Year.”

“I believe that Bow can re ignite our title challenge as he is capable of doing things on the pitch that very few others can do.”

Tom Bowey is set to be unveiled to the press this Sunday afternoon at The Social Club Christmas party
