Wilkinson ready to de throne the Queen

Welton midfielder Tom Wilkinson has declared himself fit and available for Sundays County Cup quarter final with Queen Bess.

The former Imp missed last Sundays victory over Jerusalem with a hamstring. But the former Lincoln City player came through 5 a side match in York this week unscathed.

His availability is a timely boost for Welton boss Al Taylor and will give the club additional competition in midfield with the absence of Sam Gordon this weekend.

Taylor said: "Tomis in the squad for Sunday which is very encouraging. He only played 40minutes in the five a side but he’s only missed one game and he’s a fit lad so he is ready to go.

"It is a great boost for us. Tom is capable of playing linking up play with the forwards which we missed last week.

"Irrespective of Sunday he has got a really good chance of starting the Ron Eaglen cup match against Swan next Sunday."
