Taylor planning ahead

Al Taylor has held talks with Clive Wilkinson about the luxury hotel that the Welton squad are tipped to stay in ahead of April’s County Cup final.
Architect's drawings, already viewed by the Welton manager, reveal an opulent retreat known as the Millfields hotel where Taylor hopes the Welton team will stay for the week leading up to the County cup Final.

The high-security site, boasts a 60-bedroom hotel, saunas, squash courts and luxury fitness rooms for the team - but no room for the WAGs.

The hotel is based in a remote part of Grimsby 4 miles north west of The Bradley development centre.

Every whim will be catered for with the squad having access to a specialist gym, work-out rooms, medical areas, meeting rooms and leisure quarters.

The plans reveal intricate details of the three-star accommodation players will enjoy, with with their own private balcony or patio,

George Johnson, Manager of the Millfields hotel, said: 'Taylor said that this is going to be the best base camp ever.

'That's because everything here is under one roof, in total seclusion and privacy, And Welton will have exclusive use of the whole campus.'

'It's very exciting to think that Welton will be staying with us, and from the word go we have done all we can to meet their requirements.'

The manager himself will stay in one of the four lavish presidential suites, complete with two studies, a kitchen and plush bar.

Set in landscaped gardens with water features and sculpted paths, the remote camp is a haven where Welton can escape the County Cup frenzy and focus their minds on attempting to bring the coveted County Cup back to Lincoln.

Officially Welton bosses have refused to make any formal announcement on their cup final headquarters but Grimsby sources have known the Millfields site was Taylor’s favourite as soon as he heard the game would be held in Grimsby.

If Taylor gets his way, Welton’s 19-strong outfit of players and officials will arrive around 3 days before the Final on the 29th of April.
