Joe Snookes is confident Welton will pick themselves up from the weekend defeat to Fox & Hounds and put in a performance the fans can be proud of in this Weekends County Cup final.
A dismal first half display at Sincil Bank cost Welton dearly, and the players now face the task of making a quick recovery for the showpiece game in Grimsby.
Welton will be looking for the biggest upset in Sunday League football this Sunday when they take on the County Cup holders at their home ground and Snookes believes the prospect of doing that, however unlikely it may seem will be enough to get the squad back on their feet.
"We are playing for the chance to be the first team in twenty years from Lincoln to win the County Cup, that says everything," he said on the club's website.
"The fans are intelligent enough to know that we will be playing for so much on Sunday and we really want them behind us, as they always have been on the big occasions to help us fight back."
"We may have blown two competitions but we had the weight of expectation on our shoulders heavily in the last two games," said the 26-year-old.
"Know one expects us to go to Grimsby and get a result so we have nothing to lose.
"We'll keep fighting, because we know that it's in our own hands to finish with a good season."
