More misery for Welton

Welton suffered Ron Eaglen Cup final humiliation at the hands of Fox & Hounds as the Socialites went down 1-0 to Joe Butlers first half strike.

Welton were simply not at the races in the first half and the Division 1 Champions elect fully merited their first half lead and Welton went in at the break lucky to still be in the game to be fair to Fox and Hounds who could easily have had three goals before Butler gave them the lead with 5 minutes to go before half time.

If ever their was an example of a game of two halves then even the most biased of Fox & Hounds supporters could not deny that Welton absolutely dominated the second half but as on Wednesday night Welton struggled to create clear cut chances as the Fox players defended as if their lives depended on it.

Leigh Warman forced a save with a far post header, Luke Clifford struck the post and Neil Stocks was denied a stunning 25 yard effort into the top corner by an equally brilliant save by the Fox keeper.

Welton through everything at the Fox defence but they defended well and clung on for a famous win leaving the Welton players with another runners up tea tray to show for their efforts.
